Professors Eric Meyers and Christopher Rollston will be the guest editors of the ASOR Blog for the month of March. ASOR plans to invite scholars in ASOR and the field to react to the proposals made by Professor James Tabor and Filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici in their new book, The New Jesus Discovery. The ASOR Blog will host responses from scholars throughout the month of March, and these responses will be moderated by Meyers and Rollston. The discussion will start today (Tuesday, February 28th) with several posts from Meyers and Rollston:

  • Summary analysis by Christopher Rollston on the claims made in the new book
  • Summary review of the new book by Eric Meyers
  • A detailed analysis of the epigraphic claims made in the new book

ASOR and the guest editors invite scholars to send responses that will be considered for inclusion on the ASOR Blog to Prof. Rollston (crollston@ecs.edu). The responses will be considered by Profs. Meyers and Rollston, and those deemed appropriate will be posted on the ASOR Blog during the month of March.

ASOR thanks Prof. Meyers and Rollston for agreeing to serve as the guest editors of our Blog, and we look forward to hosting a lively debate on this topic.

Andrew G. Vaughn, Ph.D.
ASOR Executive Director
