The painting shows the most famous of all beauty contests. There doesn't appear to be much to differentiate, which is as it should be, since the judge made his decision based on the best bribe. Note that the judge is wearing medieval armor, but is still one of our ancient guys. When the Cranaches painted, artists decked out their characters in period garb.

The motivation for the poll comes from an email question neither I nor the person sending it completely understood. The person asked which deity would be most helpful at a pageant. I suppose this means which one would be able to make one of the contestants a clear favorite, but I took it to mean which would be the best judge.
