Ever since finishing Master and God, which comes out in the UK this week (on the Ides of March), I have been thinking about the footwear and feet of a soldier. (You'll have to read the book to learn why.) So now I'm wondering what would be the best way to compliment a soldier on his caligae. How would you write "I say, those are mighty fine boots" in Latin?
