Rumors are circulating that Zynga is planning on releasing a new game, “Words With Spouse,” which will allow married couples to enjoy a version of the popular game “Words With Friends.”
Until now, spouses have had to largely refrain from enjoying this word game with one another, and not only because of qualms about describing themselves as “friends” (whether because that was felt to imply too low or too high a level of affection to be appropriate). The technology available when “Words With Friends” was developed did not allow for key features necessary to allow spouses to play the game together effectively – for instance, the devices on which the game has been played were unable to detect where the wife was planning on making a word, and warn thus the husband to avoid playing a word there.
But now, there’s “Words With Spouse,” which takes advantage of a number of new technological developments, including the New iPad’s mind-reading technology. While at first glance “Words With Spouse” may look just like “Words With Friends,” key additional features include the ability for wives to coin new words or veto their husband’s words, spousal mood detection, and automatic prevention of the use of words which one or both spouses do not actually know the meaning of.
