On 20th March I asked for help in identifying an aerial photo of Pompeii taking during the allied bombings of 1945. I'd like to thank everyone who commented or emailed me about this - the photo source has been identified (it's a USAF photo). Which means you should never underestimate the power of the internet for research! But by strange coincidence another Pompeian blog just posted the same photo, claiming a world exclusive. A rather strange coincidence (I hope) - if not, it demonstrates the downside of the internet too ...![]()
