In a new paper, “Modern Taurine Cattle descended from small number of Near-Eastern founders," Ruth Bollongino, Joachim Burger, Adam Powell, Marjan Mashkour, Jean-Denis Vigne1 and Mark G. Thomas present DNA evidence indicating that “around 80 female aurochs were initially domesticated” in the Near East about 10,500 years ago.
My attention was drawn to this study in part because of my two posts on “unicorns,” רְאֵמִים and aurochs in the Hebrew Bible. I guess I should complete that series sometime. Does a three year delay in posting to a series exceed the statute of limitations?
