I am a Dr, but ... Since I have been involved in medical research that most people consider ground-breaking (you know, the kind that's directly saving thousands and thousands of lives each year), I have the legal right to call myself a Medical Doctor in the UK - but I am not a registered medical practitioner in the UK as I'm sure you've checked in your own database.
Also my complaint to you about Dr Fawaz Akhras was a straight ethical one, and I feel that it is more or a Rabbinical question than a research one.
You might also have noticed I'm not going to drop this and go away nicely like a good little girl - I'm going to assume this is just sad sexism on your part.
You are welcome to use Wikipedia to look me up, but I don't look at "my" entry so you might discover numerous mistakes - I am not, for example, dead, as the site sometimes claims. They also have my year of birth wrong (sorry, I have more experience). I'm not even going to worry about their other mistakes. The Playboy story is true - but I declined to pose, and had I agreed to pose you could have tried to turn it into a reason not to act.
You might however like to use Wikipedia to check laws you cite. In fact, please Google laws you cite, rather than using American TV shows as your reference ...
I also have enough friends who feel the same way about this issue as I do, and are happy to make a "fuss" about your unwillingness to investigate. In fact, everyone I know who works for the US government (I don't know the President, just an ambassador or ten, some Senators, etc).
I'm sorry that you feel objections to torture can be dismissed as an "emotive issue" - as frankly this shows how out of touch you are with people; even those who have not been torture are against it ...
You might also like to look up The Causeway Retreat in your records; you ignored my emails about it, and only told me you wanted to hear about problems after I'd helped push the CQC into closing it down (see here).
